Elk Creek Ranch and the surrounding White River National Forest and Flat Tops Wilderness area are a sanctuary for America's largest resident elk herd, bald eagles, wild turkey, grouse, mule deer, bear, beaver, mountain lion, moose and much more.

Many members at Elk Creek Ranch enjoy the pursuit of the elk when hunting season rolls around. Starting with the archery season in September, through the rifle seasons in October and November, the Ranch is always a gathering place to tell stories of the days hunt. Some of the biggest bulls in northwest Colorado have been killed on Elk Creek Ranch owned or leased property.
